Body comfort

Why does it have to take so long for most females to be comfortable with the bodies? For most, it doesn't happen until a loooong time into womanhood. I'm talking after 30 and even then, there's still a bit to deal with apparently.

I've thought about it and concluded that it's all about society, television and the Internet. If you're a skinny, unvoluptuous woman surrounded by women with very curvy bodies who get all the attention from the men, you're likely to be fighting a body complex. If you turn on the TV everyday and see other females who look nothing like you, you may start to wonder if you look 'wrong'. It's pretty much the same with the Internet, if all you ever see while you're browsing the www is women with body shapes and skin tones completely different from yours, you might start to wish you looked different.

If you're above the age of 15, how has your body image changed over the last 5 years? A woman's body image can change from year to year, from community to community. It doesn't need to take as long as it does for most of us though. Maybe we need to start educating ourselves on the beauty of individuality, because we can't rely on the media or other people to appreciate us for who we are.
